CONFIRMED: Another one bites the dust at Kaizer Chiefs!

Kaizer Chiefs have been making signings and releasing players ahead of the beginning of the transfer window.

This in what is expected to be a seen where Chiefs rebuild their squad in an attempt to reclaim the glory days.

Chiefs looking to refresh their squad

There have been quite a few rumours with regards to who Chiefs are targeting. But before those players come in, they’re moving quickly to free up some space. Last week, they announced the departures of academy products Sabelo Radebe and Njabulo Blom. Following that, they have now confirmed the release of striker Ranga Chivaviro. The names of Tebogo Potsane, Mduduzi Mdantsane and George Matlou have also been touted for an exit.

It has gone quiet on Potsane and there looks to have been a U-turn on Matlou, it’s different for Mdantsane. That is because Chiefs have confirmed that the playmaker has become the latest player to be released by the club.

Mdantsane the latest to be released

“Kaizer Chiefs and midfielder, Mduduzi Mdantsane have mutually agreed to part ways. The 30-year-old player joined Amakhosi from Cape Town City at the beginning of the 2023/24 season. Last season, in order to accumulate some game-time after recovering from injury, he spent the latter part the campaign on loan at Richards Bay FC. During his time with Chiefs, Mdantsane made 16 appearances across all competitions. We wish Mdu all the best!” Wrote the club on their website.

Mdantsane joined Chiefs from Cape Town City two seasons ago. This was a move that had Amakhosi fans excited. It also marked a return to the club for the Bafana Bafana international who is their academy product. In the end it ended up being anticlimax with the player failing to score and assisting twice in 16 appearances.
