In a clip that has been viewed extensively across social media, Australian rugby star Miles Amatosero has been handed a four-match suspension by Rugby Australia and the Waratahs after throwing a series of punches at teammate Angus Scott-Youn.

The training ground incident left Scott-Youn injured, and cast a shadow over the Waratahsβ€˜ pre-season optimism under new coaching leadership.

According to reports and recently surfaced footage, what began as a standard high-intensity training drill quickly spiralled out of control.

Footage shows how a brief skirmish involving pushing and shoving that then escalated rapidly when the 23-year-old Amatosero unleashed a flurry of punches on Scott-Young.

Amatosero has been suspended for four matches, which can be reduced to two upon completion of counselling/education
