CAPTAIN SET TO RETURN

Springboks captain Siya Kolisi is set to return to action against Italy after missing the Barbarians test due to an injury niggle.

“For Siya, it’s just a stiff neck, I don’t think there’s a need for us to take a risk,”

“The chances are by the time we go out for the kick-off of the game that Siya will probably be loose and 100%. But it’s situations like this that we always plan to build more leaders in our team,” Mzwandile Stick told the SA media.

Meaning, Kolisi is expected to return to the starting line-up to resume his role as Springboks captain.

So, this will be Kolisi’s first Bok test of the year after he missed the Boks 54-7 victory over the Barbarians.

In his abscence, Jesse Kriel captained the Springboks for the first time ever. He put in a solid shift. Meanwhile, these Springboks FIRED, whilst, these players were underwhelming in South Africa’s first test of the year against the Barbarians.

The Springboks head into the Test series against Italy on top of the latest World Rankings.
