Kaizer Chiefs (Signings & Exits) – Defenders: 2 OUT, 2 in?

Kaizer Chiefs are set to make wholseale changes to their playing squad. Including, their defence.

Kaizer Chiefs have already released two defenders.

Njabulo Blom and Edmilson Dove have been released. Meanwhile, more Amakhosi defenders are linked with likely departures. So, a couple of replacements have been identified with two new defenders from Orlando Pirates now training with Chiefs.

CHIEFS DEFENDERS FACE UNCERTAIN FUTURE

Ex-Pirates defender, Bongani Sam is facing a likely exit.

“Bongani Sam has parted ways with Kaizer Chiefs, concluding a surprising tenure without making a single competitive appearance for the club. He becomes the sixth player to part company with the club in this transfer window,” the report read on FarPost.

Also, Bradley Crosses faces an uncertain future,

“The future remains cloudy for the duo of Bongani Sam and Bradley Cross,” the insider told KickOff.

Currently, Inacio Miguel and Rushwin Dortley are the first-choice centre backs. Furthermore, Given Msimango stepped up when these players were unavailable during the 2024/25 PSL cmpaign.

FROM PIRATES TO AMAKHOSI

Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane recently left Pirates.

So, both players are a part of these 11 new players who have reportedly joined Chiefs.

Whilst, Nasreddine Nabi has personally identified these players as his defensive transfer targets.

“It’s believed that the coach was not part of interest in those two players. Apparently, the coach was looking at three right backs, in Richards Bay defender Lwandile Mabuya, Cape Town Spurs’ Lungelo Bhengu and Mhleli Mabuza who had trials at the club in May. And at left back the coach’s main interest was Fawaaz Basadien (Stellies) and Mohamed Hussein from Simba SC in Tanzania,” the insider told SNL.

AMAKHOSI SQUAD OVERHAUL UNDERWAY

Chiefs are set to release this goalkeeper to make way for one of these massive transfer targets.

Chiefs have a whole team worth of new players – these 11 new players have reportedly joined to the first team. This includes TWO European-based signingsFIVE promotions and FOUR players from PSL rivals.

Meanwhile, they are expected to sign these players from Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana.

In contrast, as mentioned, FIVE Amakhosi player departures have been confirmed. Whilst, a total of FOUR more Chiefs players are heading out of Naturena.

SO, SHOULD CHIEFS SIGN MAKO OR MONYANE? NEITHER? OR BOTH?
