Orlando Pirates release experienced midfielder, Chiefs to pounce?

Orlando Pirates have reportedly parted ways with midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo after three years.

According to iDiski Times, the Buccaneers decided against extending the contract of the 30-year-old star.

Ndlondlo’s contract expired on 30 June, making him a free agent as of 1 July. He joined Pirates in July 2022 from Marumo Gallants and immediately impressed in his debut season. Last season, he midfielder only made six league appearances and was often overlooked by former coach Jose Riveiro

Ndlondlo leaves Orlando Pirates having made 65 appearances in the black and white of Bucs and scored three goals.

Will Chiefs want to sign another former Orlando Pirates star

Amakhosi have made it a habit of signing Pirates players in recent years. Last season, the Glamour Boys signed Bongani Sam from the Buccaneers, but unfortunately for the left-back, he never made an official appearance for Chiefs.

This week, the former Orlando Pirates duo of Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane were unveiled by Chiefs. With Ndlondlo leaving, fans have speculated that the talented central midfielder might join Amakhosi in the coming days.

“Kaizer Chiefs, please don’t sign him. Please don’t, close your eyes, there’s nothing to see here,” @Theblackjagua12 tweeted after reports indicated that Ndlondlo was a free agent.

“Orlando Pirates B team. Ndlondlo is also available on a free transfer,” @Sgantsotso3 tweeted.

Should Chiefs sign Ndlondlo?
