Is this how the Springbok team will look for next Italy Test?

It’s an open secret that the Springboks are planning to mix and match with their selections throughout this season, and Rassie Erasmus won’t deviate too far from this plan despite a mediocre team performance in the first Test against Italy.

The Springboks are expected to be able to call on some returning players such as Pieter-Steph du Toit and possibly Siya Kolisi, while also handing game-time to some others for the first time this season.

There is also every chance that Willie le Roux will be granted the opportunity to earn his 100th Test cap.

HERE IS HOW THE SPRINGBOKS COULD LINE UP AGAINST ITALY:

Springbok team to face Italy – 15 Willie le Roux, 14 Ethan Hooker, 13 Canan Moodie, 12 Andre Esterhuizen, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, 9 Cobus Reinach, 8 Evan Roos, 7 Pieter-Steph du Toit, 6 Siya Kolisi (c), 5 RG Snyman, 4 Salmaan Moerat, 3 Thomas du Toit, 2 Bongi Mbonambi, 1 Boan Venter.

After the first Test against Italy, Rassie Erasmus said he would reconsider his selection because of the performance and to handle the challenge posed by a young and hungry Azzurri.

“The make-up of the team may change to handle the physicality that Italy threw at us. You’d think a team that made 120 tackles in the first half would break in the second half.

“But it’s a team that’s fit and passionate and we have to make sure that the team that we put out next week is not just a team that can go 50 or 60 minutes it must be a team that can go 80 minutes.”
