Drake later revealed that his relationship with his ex, a former adult film star, was complicated.
On HBO’s The Shop, the rapper shared the following:
I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who, we’ve had our moments. I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to not love his mother. I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother.
The rapper went on to say:
We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible. Now, I’m just really excited to be a great father.
Today it appears that Drake is both a present and significant figure in his son’s life. He’s been spotted attending NBA games with his son, throwing his son cute and elaborate themed parties, and posting heartfelt tributes to his son on his Instagram page.
