DHL Stadium boast sold-out crowd after Springboks ticket backlash

Despite the widespread social media criticism over ticket prices, Cape Town’s DHL Stadium was filled to capacity at the Springboks vs Wallabies game on Saturday, 23 August.

DHL STADIUM PACKED TO CAPACITY

In the lead-up to the game, South Africans have bemoaned the price match-day tickets – some up to R4 000 –  for the Springboks vs Wallabies game.

However, scenes from the game told a different story. The 55 000 seater venue was packed to capacity by fans who no doubt shelled out a small fortune.

Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis joined the crowd at the game, proudly sporting his rugby supporter T-shirt.

He posted on his X account: “BOKKE FOR THE WIN! Tough match, but it was incredible to see Cape Town bring the 🔥 to cheer on our Springboks!”
