EFF leader Julius Malema urged African countries to unite under one president, one Parliament, one army, one currency, and without borders.
He argued that such unity would make Africa stronger economically and more powerful than the United States.
Malema delivered this message on Sunday while addressing delegates at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) annual general conference in Enugu.
Malema: “A Divided Continent Stands to Lose”
He warned that division weakens Africa.
“We demand one Africa, a borderless Africa. We demand Africa with one president, with one currency, with one military command. One Parliament, because we know the currency of Africa will be much stronger against the American currency,” he said.
Malema criticised former US President Donald Trump for opposing his radical political views, including his singing of the controversial “Kill the Boer” chant.
Trump argued the chant incites violence against white farmers in South Africa, a claim both the EFF and the South African government denied.
“We don’t care what Trump thinks of us. He will never choose a policy position for Africans. We must refuse to be subjects of Trump,” Malema said.
He added, “We must stand together as the world changes and show the world that Africa is one and equal to all nations to China, to Russia, to America.”
Africa as a Shining Continent
Malema rejected the notion of Africa as a “dark continent.”
“We are not just a small nation, and we are a big nation. We are not a dark continent. How can we be dark when we’ve got a diamond that is shining amongst us? We are a shining nation,” he said.
The EFF leader called for unity among Africans, saying they should not kill one another.
“Africans must always be together against enemy forces who want to exploit our continent,” Malema said.
Land and Minerals for Africans
Malema demanded that land and minerals in Africa be returned to Africans.
“We are here today to reclaim our land. The land of Africa should be returned to Africa because it belongs to the Africans,” he said.
“Africans must reclaim the continent’s minerals because they rightfully belong to us,”Malema concluded.
Do you think a borderless Africa with one government could make the continent stronger?
