Table View beachfront upgrades race towards completion

The City of Cape Town has announced that the upgrades at Table View beachfront are making excellent progress.

The City’s Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Alderman Eddie Andrews, visited the beachfront this week to check on the development.

“It’s been nearly four months since the Table View beachfront upgrade construction works resumed and I am so happy to see the momentum the project has gained since then. Despite the harsh winter weather conditions, this team has been working hard to get this project back on track. During my visit this week, I could already see the new wide walkway along the beachfront and the new parking area at Visagie Street taking shape.” Alderman Andrews said.

The City said that the upgrade balances coastal protection, public amenities, and accessibility. Some of the current works underway include:

  • Walkway and parking pod modifications between Foam Road and Seal Road
  • Construction of the Visagie Street parking area
  • Widening of the walkway at Marine Circle
  • Expansion of Bokkombaai parking
  • Timber fencing, access ways, and stormwater outlet improvements

While full completion is expected by November 2026, visitors can already see new features taking shape.

When complete, the upgraded Table View beachfront will offer a more resilient coastline, improved facilities, as well as an enhanced experience for residents and visitors.
