Rassie reveals proof of near-heart attack after Springboks loss

Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus has admitted to working himself up into a near-heart attack after the team’s 24-17 loss to the All Blacks at Eden Park on Saturday, 6 September.

At one point, the 52-year-old was seen screaming the “p-word” during a moment of agitation.

RASSIE SHARES PROOF OF NEAR-HEART ATTACK AFTER SPRINGBOKS LOSS

On his X account, Rassie Erasmus – who follows the All Blacks – posted a screenshot of his erratic heart rate after the Springboks game.

The Boks coach suffered a health risk after his heart recorded a whopping 132  beats per minutes.

Typically, anything over 100 bpm in rest mode is considered tachycardia – where the heart beats faster to try to compensate for the blockage of blood flow – is a sympton of a heart attack.

Rassie tweeted: “Does not help to pretend to be calm in the coaches’ box! Your heart does not lie”.

HEALTH WOES OVER THE YEARS

In recent months, Rassie Erasmus’s weight loss and “frail” appearance have sparked concerns among Springboks fans.

While some believe he is likely on a weight loss regimen, others have pointed to his past health woes, which he hid from the national team and the public.

Months before the 2019 Rugby World Cup, the retired player was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called microscopic polyangiitis with granulomatosis, previously known as Wegener’s disorder.

The potentially life-threatening disorder can impact vital organs like the kidneys, lungs‚ sinuses, and trachea.
