Kaizer Chiefs are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season where improvement is needed.
Chiefs have are seeking to upgrade every facet of their squad from goalkeeper to attack in this regard.
Chiefs looking to improve defence next season
There has been a lot of talk about Chiefs signing attackers who can find the back of the net. But that is not the only department they will focus on in the upcoming transfer market. Yes, they have failed to score goals despite their high creation rate, but they have failed to guard their own net too. One could partly blame the formation of a new defence, which saw Bradley Cross, Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel arrive. Coupled with the signing of a new goalkeeper in Fiacre Ntwari.
The four all started the season together but were leaking goals left, right and centre. This saw changes slowly creep in. Both Ntwari and Cross became the early sacrifice. Both were linked with an early exit from the club. Cross, however, redeemed himself towards the end of the season and is now set to stay at Chiefs.
Register interest in Leaner
The same cannot be said about Ntwari as he ended the campaign as third choice. With the club looking to free up a foreign spot, Chiefs are believed to be ready to get rid of the Rwandan international number one. Should he leave, it is believed that Amakhosi management want to replace him with new Bafana Bafana international Renaldo Leaner.
According to iDiski Times Chiefs will make an enquiry to Sekhukhune United for the services of Leaner.
“Kaizer Chiefs are set to make an enquiry to Sekhukhune United over goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner, who was broken into the senior team national team.” Wrote the publication.
Would it be a good signing?
Should Chiefs sign Leaner it could spell the end for not only Ntwari but Brandon Petersen or Bruce Bvuma. Amakhosi fans, what do you think of this potential signing?
