South Africa’s skies are busier than ever in 2025, with new international and regional routes expanding connections into some of SA’s busiest cities.
Direct flights to Australia, Mauritius, and the UK expand international options, while regional routes deepen ties with neighbours and boost tourism.
Here’s a clear look at what’s launching in 2025…
Qantas: Johannesburg to Perth
Australia is back on the map for South Africans. After years without a direct connection, Qantas is restarting nonstop flights across the Indian Ocean.

South African Airways (SAA): With flights to both Mauritius and Gaborone
The national carrier is spreading its wings again, adding both holiday and regional routes.

- Frequency: Three times weekly (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday), dropping to two times weekly in low season
- Route: Johannesburg – Gaborone

Norse Atlantic Airways: More frequency from London to Cape Town
Budget long-haul international carrier Norse is betting big on Cape Town. Strong demand from the UK has led to a significant increase in flight service.
