Springboks v Argentina: Kick-off time, referee – Confirmed

The Springboks take on Argentina in Round 5 of the Rugby Championship on Saturday. It is a must-win Test match for both sides at Kings Park in Durban if they want to remain in the race for the title.

With just two rounds left in the Rugby Championship and just two points separating Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Argentina, there is everything to play for.


REMINDER: WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF FOR SPRINGBOKS?

The Springboks host Argentina on Saturday afternoon.

Kick-off is at 17:10 (SA Time).

It is a welcome return to the traditional afternoon kick offs for Bok fans.

So, it’s time to bring out the Braai’s once more! This is fitting given the fact that it is Heritage Day is on Wednesday, 24 September 2025.


OFFICIALS CONFIRMED FOR BOKS V ARGENTINA AT KINGS PARK

  • Referee: Angus Gardner (RA)
  • Assistant Referee 1: Pierre Brousset (FFR)
  • Assistant Referee 2: Angus Mabey (NZR)
  • TMO: Brett Cronan (RA)
  • FPRO: Damon Murphy (RA)

Australian official, Gardner, will officiate the Test match between the Boks and Los Pumas at Kings Park.

He will be assisted by Brousset (France) and Mabey (New Zealand). Cronan and Murphy (Australia) will handle the technical duties with Cronan on TMO. Additionally, Murphy been appointed as the Foul Play Review Officer.

DECISIVE TEST

The Springboks currently sit on 10 points in second spot in the latest Rugby Championship standings.

Meanwhile, Argentina are on nine points in fourth. Just a point behind the Boks.

So, with just two rounds left to play, this is a must-win game for both sides.

For the Boks, a win could see them leapfrog Australia if the All Blacks maintain their iconic unbeaten streak against the Wallabies on Saturday. Meanwhile, a loss for either side would see them lose control of their own fate in the Rugby Championship.
