Not only does the youngster have to do a “reset” every single night, but he’s also not allowed to eat in his bedroom either[/caption]
As a result, not only does this entrepreneur, who runs 22 Clean Street, a fully-booked domestic cleaning company, make her son do a “reset” every night, but she also has him wiping down the shower screen after washing too.
Posting on social media, the mother, who has six years experience as a cleaner, wrote: “Strict mum or just raising a decent human? My eight-year-old’s house rules because I refuse to raise a lazy entitled adult.”
The savvy mum shared the first rule she has for her youngster, as she wrote: “If you miss the loo, you clean it – I’m raising a man, not another useless husband for some poor woman.”
As well as this, this mother also makes her son clean up after his dinner too.
She stressed that dishes are not just hers but her son’s “problem” too and acknowledged that she doesn’t mind if they’re “streaky.”
Not only does this little one have to wash his plate and cutlery after eating, but he’s also not allowed to eat dinner in his bedroom.
The mother continued: “No meals in your bedroom. I’m not running a Travelodge for feral children, dinner is eaten like a family, at the table.”
In addition to the ban on eating in his bedroom, the young boy also can’t have clothes on his floor too.
The mother recognised that she is not a “personal maid service” and as a result, makes her son put his clothes in the washing basket or in the cupboard when not being worn.
Before bed, this youngster has a simple rule he must follow.
“Reset every night: toys away, controllers charging, room tidy. Chaos belongs outside, not in my house,” the mother confirmed.
And that’s not all, as after he showers, he also has to put a squeegee to work.
The mother explained that her son must wipe the shower screen down after every use, as she stressed that “limescale is for student flats,” not her bathroom.
Doing a few basic chores won’t kill him, but raising another useless adult might kill me

After revealing her rules, the cleaner was eager to set the record straight on her son’s life.
She acknowledged that her son knows how to “not live like a feral caveman” as a result of her rules.
The cleaner concluded: “And before the ‘let the kids be kids’ brigade kick off, don’t panic, he still plays football, eats ice cream and acts like a child – doing a few basic chores won’t kill him, but raising another useless adult might kill me.”
Social media users react
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @22cleanstreet, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as in just 17 hours it has quickly racked up 70,200 views.
Not only this, but it’s also amassed 5,773 likes and 111 comments.

Another added: “100% agree and will be doing this as the bare minimum with my son as he grows. I am not raising a man who can’t look after himself!”
A third commented: “This is good, you’re teaching him to become an independent adult. People who teach their sons that ‘it’s ok, a woman will pick up after you’ annoy the heck out of me.
“My partner’s mother was like this and she’s STILL picking up after him while I moan that I am NOT his maid. Keep up the good work mama you’re doing his future self good.”
Meanwhile, someone else chimed in: “You’re doing a fantastic job, teaching him that we all contribute. Too many princes and princesses out there!”
