STRICTLY legend Brendan Cole has failed to repay £100,000 debts after his dance firm went bust.

The former BBC star, 49, earned hundreds of thousands of pounds as a dance professional on the show from 2004 to 2017.

His failing firm went belly up in 2021 and liquidators have now revealed creditors won’t get their money back.

Brendan’s company debts include £28,000 to the taxman and a £50,000 bank loan.

Liquidators for Brendan Cole Ltd said: “After taking into account asset realisations, together with fees and expenses, I think that it is unlikely that I will be able to make a distribution to any class of creditor.”

The dancer has also agreed to pay back £1,000 a month to settle a £45,000 director’s loan that he took out of the firm.

Brendan, who also starred on the New Zealand version of Strictly Come Dancing for five years and Dancing on Ice in 2022, has dodged repayments worth £16,000 after agreeing with liquidators to repay just £29,000 of the loan.

A spokeswoman for Brendan declined to comment.

The dancer owns 70 per cent of the business, with wife Zoe holding the other 30 per cent.

The company was set up in 2009, while appearing on the BBC show.

In January 2018, he announced that he would not be returning to the popular Saturday night series and said he was “in shock”.

He said: “I’m a little bit in shock at the moment.

“I’m quite emotional and a bit raw about it. I am very disappointed. It’s an editorial decision. I will never know the ins and outs.

“I have had 15 incredible series on the show, I’m very proud of the whole show, they’re a great team.”
