Mohammed Kudus leads Dream Team for assists, dribbles and crosses — favourable fixtures await

MOHAMMED KUDUS (£4.7m) has hit the ground running at Tottenham.

Having barely disguised his frustration at West Ham’s failures for most of last season, a summer transfer to North London seems to have reinvigorated the talented 25-year-old.

Back to his best

Kudus was a popular selection among Dream Team managers prior to Gameweek 1 and he’s provided healthy returns for his backers across the first five Gameweeks of the campaign.

The Ghana international currently ranks joint-ninth among midfielders having earned 37 points in total.

He’s yet to score for Spurs but he’s wasted no time in establishing himself as a creative force under Thomas Frank.

Kudus has registered four assists in his first six appearances and leads Dream Team in the key metric alongside Everton’s Jack Grealish (£3.8m), who has also created four goals for his team-mates without scoring one himself.

Kudus has only created one big chance but the underlying numbers provide evidence of his creative output.

He ranks sixth in the Premier League for chances created and third for xAG (expected assisted goals).

Additionally, the ex-Ajax star ranks fourth among all players for bonus points (8) at this stage.

And quick peek at the Stats Centre reveals why he’s among the leaders.

Assists, dribbles, crosses… he does it all

MOST SUCCESSFUL DRIBBLES THIS SEASON (ALL COMPS)

  • 23 – Mohammed Kudus
  • 19 – Iliman Ndiaye
  • 14 – Yankuba Minteh
  • 13 – Brajan Gruda
  • 12 – Jeremy Doku
  • 12 – Antoine Semenyo
  • 12 – Hugo Ekitike

MOST ACCURATE CROSSES THIS SEASON (ALL COMPS)

  • 14 – Mohammed Kudus
  • 12 – Hugo Bueno
  • 11 – Bryan Mbeumo
  • 11 – Sasa Lukic
  • 11 – James Ward-Prowse
  • 10 – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
  • 10 – Kieran Trippier

Topping two of the Player Performance Mark (PPM) metrics that determine bonus points is an impressive achievement.

Dream Team bosses who are hesitant to dig deep into the stats just need to be aware that Kudus is having a significant impact in the final third, something those who have watched Spurs will have observed.

Given that he’s already among the top ten midfielders, a couple of goals would propel him up to the very highest echelons.

Spurs have a favourable double header in Gameweek 6[/caption]

Kudus backers will be hopeful of substantial points in Gameweek 6 as he’s due to face Wolves and Bodo/Glimt in what has to be considered a favourable double header.

Vitor Pereira’s side have lost all of their league games so far and while the Norwegian underdogs have produced some spirited performances in Europe in recent years, they are very much minnows in the Champions League this season.

Looking further ahead, Gameweek 7 brings a trip to Leeds before another appealing double header in Gameweek 8 against struggling Aston Villa and Monaco.

The next month could be profitable for Kudus and company.
