Having managed to flee from the police, Emmerdale fans know that John managed to convince Caleb Milligan to help him flee the country to Rotterdam.

John told Caleb he must help him otherwise he would expose what really happened with the murder of Anthony Fox.

Caleb at first appeared to help but it soon transpired to be a trap as he drove him to a woodland where Cain Dingle was waiting.

Cain was out for revenge due to John being the killer of his son, Nate Robinson.

Armed with a gun, Cain was on the verge of pulling the trigger and killing John.

But with the threat of an email looming which John admits is scheduled to be sent to the police – Caleb panics.

Caleb is cautious as the email reveals the details of Anthony’s murder and Caleb and his wife Ruby’s involvement in it.

Wanting to prevent Cain from killing John and also protecting his own future, Caleb whack him over the head with a shovel, leaving him for dead.

He soon threatens John to help Cain feel better but John agrees only on the basis that they revert back to the original plan and Caleb smuggles him out of the country.

Fearing for his and Ruby’s future, Caleb agrees and he soon drives the truck back to the border with John hidden in the back.

Having managed to pass through border control, Caleb tells John that he will drive him to Rotterdam but he must leave at the first service station.

He insists on then having no further contact with John.

In agreement, John deletes the email and also hands Caleb the details on where Anthony’s body is buried.

Having accepted his time in Emmerdale is over, John settles down in the back of the van ready for his smuggled trip overseas but begs Caleb to tell Aaron that John loves him.
