TicketPro confirms Kanye concert – fans still have doubts

TicketPro has confirmed that Kanye “Ye” West will perform in South Africa in December at Ellis Park Stadium. However, many fans of the US rapper are still unconvinced of the legitimacy of the concert, which is being organised by the Monyake Group.

According to the ticketing service, tickets will be made available to pre-registered users on Thursday, 25 September.

TICKETPRO CONFIRMS KANYE WEST CONCERT

On their separate Instagram accounts, TicketPro and the Monyake Group shared posts about Kanye West’s concert on 13 December at Ellis Park.

A pre-reigstration period saw fans sign up to receive early access to tickets, which reportedly go on sale on Thursday, 25 September.

TicketPro posted about Ye’s concert: “This is more than a concert; it’s history. One stage, one show, one night in SA. Don’t wait. The world will be watching.”

DOUBTS FROM PUBLIC

Despite TicketPro and the Monyake Group continuing to promote the Kanye West concert, South African fans of the US rapper have voiced their doubts on social media.

Some include the following concerns:

  • A technical glitch that failed to send out the pre-registration confirmation
  • Numerous spelling and grammatical errors in an official email from TicketPro
  • A concert poster design featuring Kanye West’s face
  • The Monyake Group reportedly deleting comments questioning the validity of the concert
  • A disclaimer on TicketPro’s website about the Kanye concert, which reads: “TicketPro expressly points out that TicketPro is not the organizer, but only sells tickets on behalf of the organizer.
  • A screenshot from BizPortal which alleges that the Monyake Group has been deregistered
