Luckily, there’s a compiled list of all 53 shops where you can grab discounts and free items on your birthday.
The most common programs which offer birthday treats are memberships, app offers, loyalty and rewards schemes, and even newsletters.
You’ll have to register and include your birth date to ensure you can pick up the goodies and be prepared to have ID on you when getting your birthday gift as some stores will ask to check.
Now that’s out of the way, let’s get into the 53 shops offering goodies for their customers’ birthdays.
RETAIL
1. Nike
You can receive an exclusive birthday discount at the brand during your birthday month by signing up to Nike Members for free.
It can be used to save on Nike’s collection of clothing, footwear, sportswear and so much more.
2. The Body Shop
You can nab a £5 voucher to use on your birthday by joining the Love Your Body Club at The Body Shop.
The rewards scheme is a great way to save on essential body care and beauty products.
3. Boots
We all know and love the Boots Advantage Card that unlocks lower prices and exclusive rewards via the Boots app.
But it gets even better during your birthday month. You can collect 2x the amount of points, helping you get bigger rewards.
4. New Look
You can save 15% off online shops in the days leading up to your birthday.
All you need to do is sign up for the free New Look newsletter, but to be eligible for the treat you must enter your date of birth 30 days before your birthday.
5. Disney Store
Signing up for the Disney Store newsletter and you’ll receive a unique code valid for your birthday month.
You must be 18 or over, however, the birthday treat offers a fantastic opportunity to spoil the kids should you choose to keep hold of the birthday treat until their special day.
There are plenty of other treats available online too, all you have to do is make sure you’re signed up for the free newsletters, join any reward programmes available and create your own account at your favourite online stores to maximise your chances of a birthday surprise.
6. H&M
By joining H&M Members and buying your first purchase you’ll be eligible for their birthday discount.
Each year you’ll be emailed a voucher for 25% off one item of your choice. The voucher usually lasts about two weeks, so you’ve got time to choose something you really want.
7. Lindt
You can nab a free 200g box of Lindor truffles on your birthday if you’re signed up to MyLindt Rewards, reports NetVoucherCodes.
You’ll need to spend £10 in store to redeem the offer, but it’s still a treat! The voucher is emailed to you and can be used in Lindt shops.
8. Space NK
Creating an NDulge membership gets you a free birthday gift, usually a deluxe sample or mini from one of their premium brands.
You need to have shopped with them in the past year to qualify, but the gift is a nice way to try something new without spending extra.
9. Superdrug
Sign up for a Health & Beautycard and during your birthday week you’ll earn extra points on anything you buy.
Those points can be redeemed on future purchases, so it’s a handy way to save a bit on everyday essentials.
How to save money eating out
THERE are a number of ways that you can save money when eating out. Here’s how:
Discount codes – Check sites like Sun Vouchers or VoucherCodes for any discount codes you can use to get money off your order.
Tastecard – This is a members club where you pay to have access to discounts worth up to 50 per cent off at thousands of restaurants. It costs £4.99 a month or £34.99 for the year.
Loyalty schemes – Some restaurants will reward you with discounts or a free meal if you register with their loyalty scheme, such as Nando’s where you can collect a stamp with every visit. Some chains like Pizza Express will send you discounts for special occasions, such as your birthday, if you sign up to their newsletter.
Voucher schemes – Look out for voucher schemes offered by third party firms, such as Meerkat Meals. If you compare and buy a product through CompareTheMarket.com then you’ll be rewarded with access to the discount scheme. You’ll get 2 for 1 meals at certain restaurants through Sunday to Thursday.

Expect money-off vouchers ranging from £10-£25 or a 15% discount code. Just make sure you’re signed up at least a month before your birthday.

Join the ‘Greggs Rewards’ scheme and show the voucher at the till.
