JON RAHM claims he loves being heckled by Ryder Cup fans – despite receiving a jibe about the fat-busting drug Ozempic.
The big Spaniard was targeted on the first tee shot of his opening practice round at Bethpage this week but claims it is great fun to be abused by rowdy American fans.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Rahm also spoke about one particular night out with Tyrrell Hatton.[/caption]
Luke Donald’s European team have been equipped with virtual-reality goggles to try to prepare for the abuse from home supporters when the action starts here in New York state today (Friday).
But Rahm, a two-time Major winner, said: “It was the first shot in the practice rounds. I don’t know exactly what he said, but I think it was something like ‘Hey, Rahm, where is the Ozempic?’ It was funny.
“I don’t think that we’re creative enough in those VR goggles to what we’re going to hear this week, so far what we’ve heard in practice rounds.
“The good thing about this week is New York fans are so passionate, and luckily for me, that’s something I can relate to. It’s really, really fun.
“They have the ability to be incredibly creative, which we can all appreciate.
“We have all been at a home game trying to say some things about the away team but some people come up with things that I would never in a million years come up with, and it’s a lot of fun to be a part of.
“They understand sports, and in a weird sense, from what I’ve experienced in New York, when you’re playing well, they also respect that.
“It’s a joy to play in front of them, and no matter what, I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be special.

“You can mentally get ready for it if you’ve been a part of an away Ryder Cup. If not, you’re going to find out on the first tee how you react.”
Rahm celebrated the end of the rebel LIV Tour season by going on a massive booze bender with Ryder Cup team-mate Tyrrell Hatton in Indianapolis last month.
Hatton had spoken of waking up the following morning with vomit in his beard.
Rahm said: “I don’t drink a lot, but luckily I have a bigger tank to put it in (than Hatton).
“He had just found out he had qualified for the Ryder Cup, which being on the LIV Tour, is extremely difficult.
“What he did is outstanding. I understand, with the pride he felt, why he wanted to celebrate. And plus it was the end of the season for us.
“But the problem was the amount of things we mixed. I’m not going to get into amounts but between wine, gin and tonic, Amaretto sours, one margarita for some reason, and then this strawberry lemonade vodka thing that we don’t know what it was.
“The bartender was very creative. That was just a little bit too much.
“Neither of us were feeling good on the Monday, but he was definitely feeling the worst.”

Luke Donald‘s team are in New York ahead of the big start on Friday, having dominated the prestigious competition in the 21st century – winning eight of the 11 meetings since 2002.
But only two of those wins have come in the United States, with Team USA winning both the 2021 and 2016 competitions.
In fact, Team Europe has only won one of the four Ryder Cups held in the US – 2012 – since their win there in 2004 and Team USA enter this year’s competition as the odds-on bookies’ favourites.
