The Nuke will not feature in the Swiss Darts Trophy, just over a week removed from his shock defeat to Danny Noppert.
Fans in Switzerland will still be treated to some of darts best, with Luke Humphries, Micheal van Gerwen, Stephen Bunting and other stars all making the trip.
German Martin Schindler will benefit from Littler not participating, as he comes into the tournament as the 16th seeded player.
