KwaZulu-Natal will experience shifting weather conditions

KwaZulu-Natal will experience a range of weather conditions, with cooler temperatures inland and warmer conditions along the coast.

Forecaster Odirile Modipa confirmed that showers in surrounding provinces could extend into parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

“You know the southern parts of the country can be expected to continue… now isolated showers [are] expected across parts of the Free State… growing into the northwest,” Modipa said.

She noted that while much of KwaZulu-Natal would remain dry, some areas could still see brief showers.

KwaZulu-Natal inland cool, coastal warmth

Coastal regions will be warmer. Durban and Richards Bay are expected to benefit from clear skies and higher daytime peaks, with warm breezes contributing to humid conditions.

“In coastal regions, conditions remain fair, but quite warm in some areas,” Modipa explained. Areas further north, such as Manguzi, may feel warmer spells compared to the cooler south.

Residents should prepare for temperature swings

Despite mostly sunny skies, forecasters warn that temperatures may fluctuate across the province. Towns such as Pietermaritzburg may hover around 23°C, while other inland towns could feel much cooler in the mornings. Meanwhile, warmer conditions in Vryheid and Richards Bay will draw more humidity.

Residents are encouraged to monitor conditions closely, especially as showers move in from neighbouring provinces.

“The southern parts of the country can expect clear and sunny skies tomorrow,” Modipa reminded.
