Reform on track to WIN next election with Labour losing two thirds of their seats, reveals bombshell poll

NIGEL Farage is close to forming a majority government if there was a general election held today, a major new poll reveals.

Reform UK has extended its lead over Labour to come within touching distance of entering Downing Street, a YouGov survey shows.

The mega-poll comes on the eve of Labour’s annual conference in Liverpool starting this weekend – as their support plummets.

Farage is now in a commanding position to be the next Prime Minister but would likely have to be propped up by another party.

Reform would win 311 seats which is a big increase on polling from June when it was revealed they would win 271 MPs.

They would be just short of the 326 seats needed for a majority in the House of Commons.

If such a result played out it could prove a major headache for the Conservatives who could prop up Reform.

The poll found that they would be down to 45 seats, from their current 121 seats.

Farage’s outfit won just five seats at the last election when Sir Keir Starmer swept to power in a landslide, winning 411 seats.

The poll – known as an MRP poll – spoke to 11,000 people about their voting intentions.

Support for each political party is then boiled down to constituency level.

Despite winning 411 seats at the last election, Labour are projected to hole on to just 144 seats.

This is a drop from 178 MPs from the last big poll in June.

It is likely to put more pressure on the Prime Minister as he delivers his speech to the conference next Tuesday.

He has faced an onslaught this week from Manchester mayor Andy Burnham who says Labour MPs want him to challenge Sir Keir.

Burnham wants to go on a £40 billion spending spree for new homes and introduce a lower income tax rate for low earners.

He questioned why the government was “in hock” to the bond markets.

But the PM yesterday said this would likely trigger market turmoil as he likened the actions to the mini-Budget from Liz Truss.

The poll also found the Lib Dems down slightly from 78 to 72 seats. The SNP would be up from nine seats to 37.
