A WOMAN has revealed how she ditched traditional living to turn a school bus into a home.
Dani, from the US, decided the rental market wasn’t for her anymore, so she decided to take matters into her own hands.

In one video, Dani shared the process of transforming the bus into her dream home, which took her over three years to complete.
She revealed: “This was by far the hardest thing I’ve done but so worth it because now I get to live comfortably, rent-free, wherever I want.”
Dani revealed her journey started by scouring Facebook Marketplace for the perfect bus to convert, which took months to find.
When she did find it, she settled on an old yellow school bus and ripped out all of the interiors for a blank canvas.
Then she got started on the floor plan; she decided to have her bed at the back of the bus, a kitchen, and a bathroom just behind the driver’s seat.
Dani added a sky light for star gazing and made sure it was insulated to keep warm during the winter months.
She also installed solar panels on the roof to ensure she had energy wherever she was.
She added an induction hob, sink, fridge, and cupboard to the kitchen, and a shower and hidden toilet in the bathroom.
The double bed looked cosy with fairy lights hanging around it and skylights for extra ambience.
In total, it took Dani three years to complete the van conversion all by herself, and now she is on the road living her dream life.
The clip soon went viral on her TikTok account @dani.danielion with over 10 million views and 1.5 million likes.
People were quick to praise Dani on the transformation and couldn’t wait to see more from her and her bus.
One person wrote: “Okay miss architect, engineer, electrician, plumber, and interior decorator you did that!!!”
Another commented: “Girl this is impressive as hell.”
“Very awesome! Looks very amazing! Great job,” penned a third.
The Rise Of Van Life
The rise of van life began during the pandemic in 2020. With no one able to leave the country, staycations became popular for many say camping blog venturecampers.
On top of that, the rising cost of renting a house has put many off doing so, especially when wages have failed to keep up with the cost of living crisis.
Although it has gained popularity again, many people opted for van life in the 60s and 70s.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “I’m impressed, I couldn’t do it, but I’m impressed.”
“Damn didn’t realise a school bus could be a dream home,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “Wow this is impressive.”
