Man Utd blow as Ruben Amorim confirms Amad Diallo will MISS Brentford clash due to personal reasons

AMAD DIALLO is unavailable for Manchester United’s Premier League match at Brentford on Saturday due to a family bereavement.

The 23-year-old has been granted compassionate leave by United head coach Ruben Amorim and will not travel to London with the rest of the squad tonight.

Amad’s mother-in-law, whom he viewed as his own mother, died on the eve of United’s Premier League trip to Brighton last August but Amad asked to play.

The winger scored in United’s 2-1 defeat.

Amorim said: “I think Licha (Martinez) is out, Casemiro is out because of the red card, Amad is not here, someone in his family passed away so we are giving all the support to Amad, it was important for him to have his time and return home.”

Amad was abused by some fans after he uploaded an Instagram Story of him and former team-mate Alejandro Garnacho holding each other’s shirts aloft.

Amorim advised all of his players to stay off social media.

“Shut down social media,” he stressed. “Nowadays it’s like that, it’s a price you have to pay, the club and the fans.

“That is real life for Amad, we are here for Amad, we are here for him, we want to win for Amad.”

United are also without defender Noussair Mazraoui until after the international break with a fitness issue.

SunSport revealed on Thursday Mazraoui was absent from United’s midweek training session due to a fitness issue.

Right back Diogo Dalot is back after he missed the last two games with a muscle injury.

Man Utd player ratings: Mazraoui and De Ligt impress amid Chelsea chaos but Casemiro behaviour set up nervy finale

MANCHESTER UNITED held their nerve to see off Chelsea despite a late fightback at Old Trafford.

Robert Sanchez was sent off after five minute before goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro gave United a 2-0 half-time lead.

But Casemiro was also sent off to even the playing field and despite Trevoh Chalobah pulling one back – United held firm.
