DAVINA McCall’s fiancé Michael Douglas has spoken out about being axed by The One Show.
The celebrity hairdresser recalled being “cancelled” by the BBC show after his appearance in 2020 sparked hundreds of Ofcom complaints.

It’s after the 49-year-old encouraged viewers to dye their hair at home during the coronavirus lockdown, when shops and businesses were forced to close.
Furious fans of the show claimed his advice could be “damaging to the hairdressing industry” after explaining a box of hair dye from a shop is “exactly the same stuff that gets used in salons”.
“I essentially got cancelled,” Michael told How To Cut It in Hairdressing.
“The abuse, the death threats.. was catastrophic.
“It was really very intense.. from people in the industry, from people I knew even.
“Ofcom investigated it to see if I’d say something illegal, unlawful, untrue. Of course, there was nothing untrue about it.
“I was like ‘ha ha’, I told the truth. That was quite a relief.
“I haven’t been on The One Show since. They got so many complaints I lost my contract on The One Show for that.”
The Sun has reached out to the weeknight show regarding Michael’s latest claims.
At the time, they issued a statement amid the backlash.
It read: “The One Show had been contacted by a number of viewers asking if they could go to the hairdressers given the current advice about social distancing.
“We therefore decided to include this item which looked at whether we should be cutting hair ourselves.
“We gave viewers some simple advice to help them feel confident about managing their hair until they are able to get their hairdresser to do the job properly.
“Our hairdresser did suggest people should seek advice from their hairdressers and we believe viewers would be aware of the need to carefully check the instructions for any product they buy.”
Michael recently proposed to former Big Brother host Davina after seven years together.
He had been caring for his 57-year-old girlfriend at home following her brain surgery last year.
