The 23-track project dropped has already surpassed one million album equivalent units sold in the United States. This totals over R18.5 million in sales value.
CARDI B’S NEW ALBUM
South African fans, many of whom stream Cardi on repeat, have closely followed the album’s rollout. The achievement makes Am I The Drama? one of the most talked-about global releases of 2025.
The project includes her chart-topping anthems WAP featuring Megan Thee Stallion and Up. Both singles went to No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100, according to Complex.
HER HIT SONGS
WAP is now certified nine times platinum, while Up boasts five times platinum status. Their inclusion helped propel the new release past platinum almost instantly.
Cardi B defended her choice to bring the older hits onto her second album. “WAP and Up are two of my biggest songs.
My fans have been asking me to put them on an album… they deserve a home,” she wrote on X.
SUBMITTING TO THE GRAMMYS
She also admitted, “I let haters make me not submit WAP for the Grammys. At this point, I’m giving my fans what they want.”
The RIAA posted its own salute. “Congratulations @iamcardib! Her brand new album #AmITheDrama? is out now and already RIAA certified Platinum,” the organisation announced, according to RTT News.
CARDI B AND TYLA’S COLLABORATION
Cardi B’s Am I The Drama? also features a standout collaboration with South Africa’s very own Tyla.
The South African singer has been enjoying a global breakthrough with her Amapiano-inspired pop sound.
The track blends Cardi’s fiery rap delivery with Tyla’s smooth vocals, creating a fusion that bridges Bronx hip hop and Johannesburg’s vibrant club culture
INVASION OF PRIVACY
Cardi B’s debut Invasion of Privacy also made rap history. It was certified platinum in 2022 with all 13 tracks going platinum or higher.
No other female rapper has achieved that feat. She is also the only female MC with several diamond-certified singles, including Bodak Yellow and I Like It.
For South Africans, Cardi’s success is another sign of hip hop’s huge global reach. With platinum already locked in, fans here can expect Am I The Drama? to dominate clubs, playlists, and charts very soon.
