Good Morning Angels raises R5.7 Million for South Africans in need

Jacaranda FM’s ‘Good Morning Angels’ Golf Day marked a milestone this year, raising an extraordinary R5.7 million for South Africans in need.

The annual fundraising event, hosted at Irene Country Club on Friday, broke last year’s record by nearly R1 million.

THE GOOD MORNING ANGELS GOLF DAY

Over 80 companies came out in support. The day offered more than just golf, with a new bowls tournament and a sponsor village adding fresh energy.

Spur provided a hearty burger lunch, while JVR Events transformed the First Fairway into a lively venue for dinner and prize-giving. SAB added their signature flair, bringing even more joy to the occasion, according to Jacaranda FM.

Performances by JP Dix, Claire Johnstone, and Nadine lifted spirits, with Nadine sparking an impromptu dance floor party. Their contributions captured the spirit of celebration and unity.

GOOD MORNING ANGELS AUCTION

The main auction proved to be a standout. Guest auctioneers Chris Morris and Adam Heys kept bidders on their toes, helping raise R1,565,000.

Raymond Marais from Container King paid R550,000 for a Jacaranda FM advertising campaign valued at half a million rand.

CAMPAIGNS AND PRIZES

Ross Volk from MSC Cruises purchased another campaign for R500,000. He also secured Titans Suite access for R55,000.

Raul Lima from AutoMagic Centurion claimed a TAG Heuer Watch and Max Verstappen Racing suit for R250,000. A night golf activation sponsored by Spar added R180,000.

Generous sponsors were rewarded, too. King Price scooped the top prize of R150,000 in airtime. Promac Paints took second with R75,000, and Sabat Batteries earned R50,000.

Total Risk Advisory won R50,000 for their sponsor village innovation.

GOOD MORNING ANGELS CHANGING LIVES

Martin Bester, host of Breakfast With Martin Bester, said: “This year’s record-breaking R5,7 million raised is nothing short of extraordinary.

These funds will directly change countless lives on Good Morning Angels.”

Jacaranda FM’s Managing Director, Vuyani Dombo, added: “For two decades, Good Morning Angels has stood as a beacon of hope. To raise more than R5.7 million this year is both humbling and inspiring.”

With this achievement, Jacaranda FM cements its role as not only an entertainer but also a force for positive change in South Africa.
