THE Met Office has reported heavy fog and warned Brits about potential travel delays due to bad visibility this morning.
Last night was the coldest of autumn so far as temperatures plummeted across the UK.

Scotland faced the most extreme drop and recorded temperatures as low as -3.6C in the Highlands.
Patches of dense fog are forecast and travellers in eastern England should take extra care.
The yellow weather warning said that visibility may drop to less than 100m in areas.
Met Office Meteorologist Tom Morgan said: “We’re moving into the season of mist and fog and that’s certainly the case for some of us this morning.
“Some pretty dense patches of fog across eastern parts of England for the next few hours, so some some poor visibility on the roads and definitely worth leaving a little bit longer for your commute.”
Following a chilly wake-up, most of the UK can look forward to a clear, sunny morning with some clouds forming as the day goes on.
Northern Ireland will have some pockets of rain in the morning but stands to brighten up as the day goes on.
Heavier showers are making their way across northern and western Scotland but becoming patchy as the clouds move eastwards this afternoon.
Those in western Scotland might want to grab a hat as the Met Office warns of incoming gusty winds of up to 40mph.
The UK will still be slightly warmer than the yearly average, with temperatures in London and Southampton hitting 19C.
Other areas of the UK will be in the late teens, despite the drop in temperatures last night.
The lowest will be Stornoway in the Outer Hebrides which will get up to 13C this afternoon.
A gustier forecast in Scotland means it might feel a little cooler than expected.
“Into this evening and overnight then that southerly breeze continues to stay fairly fresh across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
“That’s going to keep temperatures from falling away too much and there will actually be further outbreaks of rain pushing in from the Atlantic,” said the meteorologist.
Northern and Western Scotland is looking at a damp night as the rain stays throughout the evening.
England and Wales should be largely dry with clear skies although there may still be some pockets of mist.
Temperatures will stay warmer throughout the night, with lows of 7C in The Midlands but northern Scotland keeping in double figures at 12C tonight.
