Married At First Sight set for crossover special with iconic show – and one star has already signed up

MARRIED At First Sight’s fresh season is in full swing – yet The Sun can exclusively reveal a huge twist in the format for the next instalment.

We can report the E4 matchmaking show will join forces with a Channel 4 classic, where brides and grooms swap weddings for washing up.

The matchmaking series will combine with Come Dine With Me for a special episode[/caption]

Married At First Sight icon Ella Morgan, 31, will lead the way in the programme’s mash-up with Come Dine With Me, where dinner guests rate each others’ grub.

A source told us of the show collaboration and said: “MAFS is such a big hit for Channel 4, they have decided to combine it with one of its other biggest franchises and have commissioned a Married At First Sight Come Dine with Me special.

“Some of the most memorable brides and grooms from over the years will be appearing on the show, and Ella Morgan is one of the names that has signed up.

“It will be a must watch for fans of either franchise.”

The Sun has contacted C4 for comment.

ELLA’S STORY

Bristol born Ella made history as MAFS’ first ever transgender contestant back in 2023.

She appeared in season seven of the hit E4 show and speaking ahead of her appearance, she said: “This experiment is so much more than just me getting married.

“I see this as a big deal for someone who has transitioned.”

During the experiment, she was matched with Nathaniel Valentino and the pair were wed.

However, the marriage did not work out with the pair arguing right from the off.

Ella then fell for another one of the grooms – JJ Slater.

Despite the pair having an initial steamy attraction things didn’t last and by the reunion show they had split up.

Fashion brand founder JJ is now dating former glamour model Katie Price.

She then headed back to her reality star roots to take part in Celebs Go Dating.

Mafs couples that have stood the test of time

Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.

The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.

Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.

Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.

Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”

Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.

Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.

“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.

“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’

“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”

Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.

Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.

They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.

Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”

DINE DRAMA

It appears the MAFS alum will be set for a boozy show if many former Come Dine With Me stars’ experience are anything to go by.

The behind the scenes secrets and special requests on the series were recently revealed.

One star exclusively told The Sun how they won the foodie series – despite being drunk all the time.

Garry MacDonald, 35, took home the reality show cash prize this year after knocking his competitors’ socks off with an Ibiza Beach Club themed menu.

When asked how much contestants are allowed to drink on set during Come Dine With Me, Garry admitted that although producers try to put a stop to the boozing, they don’t have much success.

“You can just drink whatever,” he laughed. “I gave [my guests] venoms on arrival.

“I kind of felt like we were drunk all week. [Producers] would kind of say that’s enough alcohol, but you’re in your own house. Like what exactly – you’re not going to kick me out of my own house.

“You can see even before the starter most nights, we’ve all had a good drink. You can tell by watching it back, at the interviews at the end of the night.”
