BRITNEY Spears’ bizarre social media posts have long troubled fans, but things took an even darker turn last week as they spotted what looked like dog poo smeared across the floor of her filthy home.
Now, as fears about her wellbeing grow, those close to the pop megastar have revealed the disturbing truth about her life behind closed doors – and say the scenes from inside her mucky mansion are just the “tip of the iceberg” as she “loses touch with reality”.

Once voted the world’s sexiest woman, with a £100million Vegas residency under her belt and a pop star boyfriend hanging off her arm – Britney appeared to have it all.
Fast forward to today, and the superstar has sparked concern among her legion of loyal fans, with many questioning whether she needs more support around her.
Last week, Britney, 43, posted a typically bizarre video online – but as she danced in her ‘PJs’, a crop top, tiny shorts and knee-high boots, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice what looked like dog mess in the background.
Just four years on from escaping her conservatorship, pals close to the star believe she’s in the ‘toughest spot’ she’s ever been in, wrestling to put her life back together and stuck in a fantasy world.
One insider, who has known the star for over two decades, told us: “She has been struggling for many years now, and she doesn’t seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
“I feel desperate because I’m trying to help her bounce back and be happy again, but she seems stuck in this ‘bad zone’ where she needs attention.
“The dog poop really is just the tip of the iceberg – her house is a tip. Some rooms are just filled with worn clothes. The kitchen isn’t much better.”
The pal believes, like Peter Pan, Britney is tragically stuck as a young adult – unable to move on with her life and grow up after all her past trauma.
They said: “She shuts down when I tell her anything about the house and says that everything is fine and that life is beautiful.
“She thinks she is 20 years old again, like she has no responsibilities and can just have fun and live life like a young adult, a preteen.
“In many ways, she has lost touch with reality.”
In November of 2021, Britney broke down in tears when a judge ruled that her conservatorship was finally ending – allowing her to take full control of her life and career for the first time in 13 years.
During the harrowing court case, Britney described her years in conservatorship as an “abusive nightmare” that “stripped me of my womanhood,” preventing her from having children, while controlling her life, and causing trauma and exhaustion.
As her dad, Jamie, stepped away from the role and Britney slowly made her way back into the limelight, fans rejoiced, believing the ‘Free Britney’ movement had really made an impact.
But it was short-lived thanks to her return to social media, which saw her post near-naked clips, dance with knives and share streams of garbled consciousness.

Our insider added: “She’s stuck in this hole, and I don’t think she’s aware of how bad her situation is.
“I’ve known her for so long, and it’s getting to a point where I’m truly worried about her, and I keep trying to get her some help.
“She is acting like a stereotypical artist who has fallen from stardom but is always seeking the spotlight and public attention, with weird behaviors, bizarre social media posts, and acting like a younger version of herself.”
Just last week, the Toxic singer went on another online rant, saying “shame on you” to the trolls who had mocked her poo covered house, adding she was “cleaning my house like no tomorrow”.
Other posts that have raised eyebrows recently include one where she posted a picture of Elton John, and revealed a bizarre deam involving him and her having another baby.
In another, she is completely naked apart from her trusty black knee-high boots and a rose emoji to cover her modesty.
Amid her newfound freedom, Britney married her third husband, Sam Asghai, and just a year later, in 2023, they split.
Britney Spears’ conservatorship timeline
In September 2021, Britney’s case returned to a Los Angeles courtroom where Judge Brenda Penny made a number of bombshell rulings, following her father’s decision to end the conservatorship the month prior.
She ruled to rid Jamie of his daughter’s conservatorship, however, it did not mean the end of the conservatorship altogether.
Speaking in court, Judge Brenda Penny said: “Based on what I read in the filings, and I read everything. I do believe the suspension of Jamie Spears is in the best interest of Britney Spears.
“The current situation is unattainable. The court finds the toxic environment Jamie Spears has created needs to be removed today.”
Following the judge’s decision, a temporary conservator was put in Jamie’s place for about a month.
In early November 2021, Jamie was back in court filing new legal documents that show he’s done fighting.
Jamie had previously demanded $2 million in exchange for stepping down but documents at the time showed that he was not seeking any further compensation.
On November 12, Judge Penny ruled in favor of the pop star, removing Jamie from the position of conservator without requiring any further mental examination from Britney.
The star’s first husband was Jason Alexander, who she was married to for 55 hours, before tying the knot with Kevin Federline in 2004, parting ways in 2007 – the exes share sons Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15.
Britney has since described her marriage to Sam as a “distraction”, which she says was to help her deal with the heartache of being estranged from her sons once her conservatorship ended.
In a gut-wrenching post, she shared: “The hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years … I was cut off from calling or texting and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears.
“It’s weird me and Sam were married but it almost felt like a fake distraction to help me deal with it.”
She is now believed to be back in contact with her two boys, who now live in Hawaii with their dad, and is working slowly on repairing their very broken relationship.

Despite everything that has gone on, pals reveal there is light in the darkness and still a chance for Britney to find true happiness, claiming she is dating again.
They said: “Britney is desperate to look for love, and she feels a bit like she is cursed but wants to keep fighting to find The One no matter what.”
She has considered joining a dating app but is believed to have taken on advice from friends, who have warned her it could open a can of worms that should stay firmly shut.

“Britney is damaged by love, by her life, but also by her previous marriages and relationships. But she still believes that her special one, the love of her life, is out there waiting for her – and that will be the missing part to her puzzle, saving her from turmoil. She is desperate to find him.”
But while being Peter Pan might be fun for a while, it seems Britney needs to be free from Neverland once and for all if she wants to find her happy ever after.
The insider added: “She needs to change her life habits, get her life together, and face the reality of life to be happy and stable again.
“I am sure she can become a great artist again, but for now, she has to focus on herself and live the life of a normal person again.”
