Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s 37 points came via three tries, eight conversions and two penalties.
That broke the 18-year record set by former Springbok fullback Percy Montgomery who racked up 35 points against minnows Namibia at Newlands in Cape Town on 15 August 2007.
That day Montgomery scored a try and landed 12 conversions and two penalties in the Springboks’ runaway 105-13 win.
Green and gold jersey
Feinberg-Mngomezulu became just the sixth Springbok to score 30 or more points in a Test.
The former Bishops pupil entered the match on 58 career Test points after 13 Tests – at an average of 4.5 points per match.
That placed him 51st in terms of points scored in the green and gold jersey.
Come the final whistle, Feinberg-Mngomezulu had moved to 95 Test points scored and into a tie for 32nd place overall at an new average of 6.8 points per outing.
He’s now level with Stefan Terblanche (37 Tests) and Jesse Kriel (83 Tests) on 95 points, with James Small (100 points) the next player ahead.
Top of the log
The Springboks’ bonus point win over the Pumas saw them move to the top of this year’s Rugby Championship log.

Another win with a bonus point over Argentina in their final match at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham next Saturday will ensure Rassie Erasmus’s men would retain their Rugby Championship title.
Don’t bet against a rampant Springbok team from doing exactly that!
Kick-off is at 15:00 (SA time).
