Saxophonist superstar Kenny G – who is currently in the country – has won the praise of many South Africans after he was spotted boarding a FlySafair flight this week.
The multi-Grammy-winning artist has wrapped up his shows in Durban and Cape Town. He performs next in Pretoria on Saturday, 4 October.
The 68-year-old is performing in South Africa for the third time. He last toured the country in 1998 and 2014.
KENNY G SPOTTED IN FLYSAFAIR FLIGHT
In a TikTok video, Kenny G – Kenny Gorelick – was spotted boarding a FlySafair flight en route to his Durban concert on Wednesday, 1 October.
South Africans praised the curly-haired saxophonist in the comment section for the simple act.

THE SOUND OF GOOD MUSIC AND FOOD
In a casual chat with Smile FM in March, Kenny G – known for his jazzy saxophone tunes – was let in on a national secret.
Host Phil de Lange said, “Your music is used at weddings and family functions, specifically when people are waiting for the food to arrive.”
When asked if he was aware of it, the 68-year-old musician laughed and asked, “So, not when they’re walking down the aisle?”
He also asked: “Do my songs help with the appetite or something?”
Beaming, Kenny G continued: “I did not know that, and you know, it makes me smile. I’m happy to know that”.

The artist added that it had been “too long” since his last performance in the country.
In his concert announcement, he said, “We had an incredible time performing for such a warm and passionate audience.
“We are really looking forward to finally coming back to share our music with all of you again.”
