Chiefs and Pirates competing in the same market

With that, it’s imperative for both Soweto giants to attack the transfer market, in order to boost their squads. In previous windows it has been a common practice to see both Pirates and Chiefs in the same market. They were believed to be chasing the likes of Oswin Appollis. Furthermore, his Polokwane City teammate Thabang Matuludi, Chippa United star Sinoxolo Kwayiba too. The two clubs are also reported to be interested in Fawaaz Basadien, who Mamelodi Sundowns are eyeing too. The next player that the two clubs were thought to be battling for is Masindi Nemtajela of Marumo Gallants.

Latest names added to the list

Two more players seemed to be added to the list. Rowan Human makes a return, while a new entry is Etiosa Ighodaro. Now it was recently reported by this publication that Pirates made an enquiry for Neo Rapoo. The SuperSport United youngster was a key part of the SA U20 side that won the U20 AFCON. Now according to iDiski Times, Chiefs have entered the race too.

Rapoo the subject of dual interest

“Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are both keen to sign SuperSport United left-back Neo Rapoo ahead of the new season. His performances as he led South Africa U20 to the Africa Cup of Nations title earned him interest in Scandinavia and the Gulf but sources as Matsatsansa have confirmed Chiefs and Pirates are both seriously after the player who is seen as future senior national team left-back. With Pirates having released Paseka Mako and the retirement of Innocent Maela, their interest on the promising full-back comes as no surprise, while Chiefs are looking to remedy a position that has plagued them in the last couple of seasons.” Wrote the publication.

Should he be a Buccaneers or a Khosi?
