She said they’ll be plenty of sinister moments leaving fans on the edge of their seat[/caption]
The spin-off last aired in 2020 and is a post-watershed version of the Channel 4 soap.
Anya, who plays Vicky Grant, said the new episodes will be darker, sexier and more violent, which will air in the autumn as part of the month long celebrations
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Anya said: “I’ve never seen a proper episode of Hollyoaks Later and it then started popping up on my social media and then a week later I got invited and I was like ‘oh my gosh, no way’.
“It’s very sexy, very violent, very sinister, very dark, a bit cheeky, a bit sweary, romances…. All of the above.
“It was genuinely the most amazing shoot, it does feel like a completely different show.”
While co-star Gemma Bissix, who plays scheming Claire Devine on the soap, said: “It’s like watching something like The City Is Ours, because it’s real real drama.”
The Sun exclusively revealed there’s going to be a host of familiar faces returning for the episode – as well as some new.
The episode will see the return of Warren Fox and Theresa McQueen to the show as actors Jamie Lomas and Jorgie Porter reprise their roles.
And Coronation Street star Tisha Merry is joining Hollyoaks as a series regular with her character Gemma debuting in the late night episode.
Gemma teased that the 30th anniversary special is set to be explosive – as she confirmed she’s not leaving anytime soon.
She said: “We’ve got the 30th birthday celebration coming up and obviously Claire does some really bad things, but at the moment I didn’t think I was leaving Hollyoaks.
“I think Claire is the type of person who can dip in and out.
“I think when people think her character is leaving, they think it’s for good and it’s not like that for Claire.
“I live down south, so I’m happy with what I’m doing.”
Viewers know that serial killer Jez has Claire’s money which could mean only one – the will go to war with each other.
“So serial killer Jez, there’s a lot of stuff together with Claire and Jez, they’re grouped together to take revenge on people like this one [pointed to Anya], as she killed my husband,” Gemma said.
“Yeah I think it is [going to be a soap battle]. What we’ve realised is they’re different villains and what’s really nice is getting their scope and I’ve realised is Claire is a villain but not a murderer – apart from trying to murder her husband Max in 2007, but she hasn’t actually killed anyone, but he out and out kills people.
“She only wants to kill this one [Vicky], and Dylan and Frankie because she’s got revenge.
“She doesn’t just want to kill people for the sake of killing people.”
Despite Jez being a cold-blooded killer, Gemma said Claire can easily outsmart him.
“She’s quite clever because she’s more vindictive. She took a selfie in a recent episode and timestamped, so if anything happens to me then I’ll know. She’s not really afraid,” she said.
Meanwhile fans were left shocked as they Claire discovered Sienna and Ste is being held captive and locked up by Jez on the Love Boat.
Jez realised Sienna wouldn’t go along with his plan to fake her death, so he chained her up in the soundproofed boat.
Ste was then also trapped and knocked unconscious by Jez, who plans to force Sienna to kill him
But instead of helping them, Claire turned a blind eye.
Reacting to that moment, Gemma said: “I couldn’t believe Claire came down and was really gentle and then it turned out to be a delicious day.
“She didn’t tie them up herself but both of them have been really rude to her.
“Sienna’s tried to take her daughter and Ste was vile to her.”
