MANCHESTER UNITED will have to compete with their local rivals for the signature of Bayern Munich youngster Aleksandar Pavlovic.
The 21-year-old midfielder made his debut for the German giants at age 19 and has steadily worked his way into the starting squad in the years since.

The defensive-minded German has made four appearances in the league this season, notching one goal, and has now attracted interest from the Premier League.
According to reports from Bild, both United and City have made contact regarding the youngster’s services.
They also face competition from abroad, with giants like Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested in making a swoop.
Pep Guardiola may be interested in him as an understudy to midfield general Rodri.
But a move to Old Trafford would likely have the opposite effect of ousting an incumbent midfielder.
Academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo was revealed to be open to a move away from the club in late summer, after struggling to win minutes under Ruben Amorim.
His search for a loan option was spiked by the Portuguese boss, but he is still yet to start in a Prem game this season.
Instead United have turned to Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte ahead of the England international.

It is therefore hard to imagine the 20-year-old remaining in Manchester should another option arrive above him in the pecking order.
Reports emerged earlier this week that Mainoo already had his eyes set on a specific move away from the club.
He is hoping to join former United flops Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay at Italian giants Napoli.
Both stars reignited their career at the club since departing the North West, with Hojlund scoring a brace in the Champions League on Wednesday and McTominay finishing 18th in the Ballon d’Or rankings last month.
