I’ve replaced my full-time job with zero-qualification side hustles – it fits so well around the kids

A MUM-OF-TWO has revealed how she has managed to gain career freedom, replacing her full-time income with a portfolio of diverse, flexible side hustles.

Now, she’s not just earning a living – she’s projecting an incredible income this year, all while working on her own schedule.

Amy has over 80,000 TikTok followers as many tune in for her top tips[/caption]

Amy, known to her thousands of dedicated followers as @thehustlemumma on TikTok, has revealed the zero-qualification strategies she uses, often delivering her advice from the comfort of her own sofa.

She has shared her top tips for earning cash from home, meaning you can ditch the commute and even stay in your pyjamas.

Amy’s guide to these zero-qualification income streams is essential reading.

Amy avoids relying on a single revenue stream, instead building a robust portfolio of hustles, many of which are designed to run passively.

Amy’s current priority is her MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) business with Aura Flame.

While she began with the intention of keeping it passive, she is now going “full steam ahead” to grow her management level team.

“I don’t care if you’re in your PJs [pyjamas], you can attend our monthly staff meetings in your PJs [pyjamas], I don’t care,” she says.

Direct sales can be managed entirely from home, on your own schedule, but success depends on finding a product you genuinely believe in and dedicating time to building a strong network.

Amy then explains that starting a business account on Etsy is another top tip.

She and her husband, Nigel, run an established jewellery shop on Etsy, which has allowed her to bring in extra income on the side.

She explained that after having her daughter, Bonnie, and suffering postnatal depression, she “took my foot off the gas” and nearly lost the shop.

The couple spent months painstakingly rebuilding the business and are now focused on new passive products.

Nigel is currently creating digital products to sell alongside their physical goods – a high-profit method since there is no stock or shipping required after the initial design.

Etsy isn’t just for crafters; you can sell physical items or, for true passive income, digital downloads like planners, templates, or art prints.

Micro-tasks

Amy then moves onto micro-tasks and how to get cashback.

For quick, low-concentration cash, she uses task-based sites.

She found traditional survey sites like Atapol difficult, admitting her brain “works too fast for them,” but found success with Custard and Cashback.

These platforms offer tasks, games, and challenges that pay out for minimal effort.

While micro-task sites won’t make you a millionaire, they are perfect for filling short gaps in your day – like waiting for the kettle to boil – to accumulate “holiday fund” money.

Pet care

Another tip is pet care.

For animal lovers, Amy highlights Rover, the popular pet-sitting app.

The app allows you to offer services like dog walking, house-sitting at the owner’s home, or boarding pets in your own house.

“If you’ve got a dog in your house you’re just going to be earning cash whilst you’re at home,” she points out.

Amy reminds potential sitters to check their local council for licensing rules, noting that while a licence can cost a few hundred pounds per year, it’s easily earned back from a single booking.

Affiliate marketing

She also does affiliate marketing, which helps to build an income while you sleep

Affiliate marketing, where you earn a commission by sharing links to products, is Amy’s most truly passive hustle.

This is tied directly to building an online platform, primarily TikTok

“Building up a TikTok account, getting paid for your views on there, then getting your affiliate link shared out is something you should look at because trust me if I can do it, anyone can do it.”

The initial work is building an audience around a niche you love. Once that platform is established, you can monetise commissions simply by recommending trusted products and services.

The secret sauce to Amy’s money making plan is monetising what she already knows through digital products.

“Everybody is good at something, everybody has a niche,” she states.

Amy regularly shares her top tips on how to earn cash at home[/caption]

The key is identifying what friends and family consistently ask you for advice on.

For her, it’s making money.

This led her to write her own book detailing her side hustles.

She also mentions diving into Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing), where her husband is learning to create and sell low-content books (journals, planners, etc.) directly on Amazon’s platform.

Amy’s video gained 22 comments, with many viewers rushing to ask practical questions.

One asked: “These are great, do you have to pay tax? How do I do that?”

To which Amy replied: “Yes you will need to register as self-employed, I have an accountant doing mine.”

Another added: “I really want to earn money from home so I don’t have to work long shifts.”

And someone else shared their own journey, saying: “I have a side hustle alongside my full-time job.

“I sell crochet products and digital crochet patterns, but everything on Etsy flopped so I moved to a paid website. Not sure if I’m doing the right thing! Thanks so much for the tips.”

Money saving challenges

Here’s some of our favourite money saving challenges.

  • Weather saving challenge – Save the amount equal to whatever the highest temperature was that week. £1 = 1C.
  • 1p challenge – save 1p a day for everyday of the year, but it increase the amount by 1p each day. So day one you save 1p, 2p on day two and 3p on day three. When you reach 100 days you start adding a £1 coin each day too, while this increases to a £2 coin each day plus pennies at 200 days, and £3 each day on top of pennies at day 300.
  • 20p a day challenge – Start by putting 20p in savings, then increase the amount by 20p every day. For example, the first week will look like this: 20p, 40p, 60p, 80p, £1, £1.20, £1.40.
  • £5 a week challenge – Like the 20p challenge, put aside £5 a week and increase it by a fiver each week. Eg £5, £10, £15, £20
  • Round-up challenge – Every time you buy something, round up the purchase to the nearest £1 and put the difference in a savings account. Eg. You pay £2.60, so you put 40p in savings. You can use an app such as Monzo or Starling to do this.
  • Bingo challenge – Here you have a bingo card with different numbers on it and you tick them off when you’ve put that amount in your savings account. It can be ad hoc but you have to tick them all off by the end of the month.
  • Monday to Sunday challenge – With this challenge, you simply save £1 on Monday, £2 on Tuesday and so on until the weekend where you don’t save on Saturday or Sunday.
  • 365 day challenge – Every Sunday you put aside £1, followed by £2 on Monday, £3 on Wednesday and so on. On Saturday you’ll put away £7, and then the process repeats and you’ll put aside £1 on Sunday as the new week begins
