A POLICE investigation has been launched into an “unexplained” death after a body was pulled from a canal.
Cops have confirmed that a body was discovered at the Black Country canal yesterday morning, with the cause of death remaining unknown.

In a statement, West Midlands Police told that officers responded to calls from Ryders Green Road in West Bromwich just before 11am on Tuesday, October 7.
Locals reported that part of the canal was drained while police worked in the area.
A large stretch of Walsall Canal was cordoned off and a blue forensic tent was also erected.
Two sections of the canal were drained while officers investigated the scene.
Police are currently treating the death as unexplained and a post mortem examination is due to be carried out.
The statement reads: “A body was discovered in water near Ryders Green Road, West Bromwich, just before 11am today.
“At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained.
“A forensic post mortem will be carried out in due course to help establish the cause of death.”
Residents have been quick to share their devastation over this tragic discovery.
Taking to Facebook, one saddened local wrote: “R.I.P. and condolences to the family.”
Another added: “So sad rest in peace.”
