Martin Lewis thinks dehumidifiers are a savvy swap for tumble dryers[/caption]

Consumer champion Martin Lewis recently called dehumidifiers a savvy swap for energy-eating tumble dryers and the ultimate hack for drying clothes.

The Tronic dehumidifier will cost just £74.99, some 78 per cent less – equivalent to £275 – than branded alternatives.

It will be available in stores from October 16, while stocks last.

The nifty gadget comes with two programmes, one for drying laundry and one for dehumidifying.

It boasts a 2.1-litre tank capacity and a moisture extraction rate of up to 10-litres.

Meanwhile, Lidl has launched a middle-isle gadget that that leaves clothes crease-free and banishes dust.

The Silvercrest Beige Garment Steamer will be available from the Lidl middle aisle for just £14.99.

According to the product description, this handheld gadget will “quickly and easily” removes creases from your garments.

It can be used as a vertical steam, making it ideal for use on hanging textiles.

With a removable water tank measuring 250ml and an extra long cable for 220cm of added flexibility, this buy guarantees a “continuous steam output”.

The budget supermarket has also launched a massive sale on wooden toys just in time for Christmas.

There are over 100 different toys from play kitchens to model car tracks in the impressive range.

Anyone hoping to bag perfect Christmas gifts for kids are in luck with the range of toys dropping just in time for early Christmas shoppers.

Shoppers can even bag themselves up to 20 per cent off the range using Lidl Plus.

How to save money on Christmas shopping

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.

Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.

Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.

Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.

Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.

Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.

Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.

Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.

They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.

Earlier this month, Lidl also announced it will be closing most of its stores for three days over the Christmas period.

It has said all 980 of its UK stores will be closed on Christmas Day.

All stores outside the M25 will be closed on New Year’s Day, while most outside the M25 and Wales will be shut for Boxing Day.

To find out your local store’s opening hours, you can check Lidl’s online store finder or look on the Lidl Plus app.
