EX England rugby captain Chris Robshaw has opened up about the emotional reason he’s content with being the “underdog” on Strictly Come Dancing.
He and professional partner Nadiya Bychkova found themselves in the bottom two in the first dance-off of the series.

The 39-year-old sports star faced low scores from the judges over the weekend, but survived elimination after Thomas Skinner and Amy Dowden were sent home in Sunday’s results show.
Reflecting on his performance, Chris spoke candidly about how he has grown used to battling from behind both on and off the pitch.
He said: “I’m used to being the underdog.
“I’m used to feeling like the underdog, and I know I’m the underdog on Strictly.
“I was never the best at school. I found education quite tough, I felt more at home on the pitch than I did in the classroom.
“Rugby kept me out of trouble.”
Chris explained rugby got him through losing his father at a young age.
His dad Alan died suddenly from a heart attack at age 40 when Chris was five years old.
He said: “When I lost my Dad I could have gone down another path, I was angry, really angry, and the game helped me to deal with the anger in a controlled way.”
The star went on: “I think Dad would have been proud of me dancing on Strictly. I think he would be shocked to see me doing it, but I know he’d rate me doing something outside my comfort zone.
“He’s probably having a little giggle, but I know he’d be full of pride. If I can be half the man that my dad was, I know I’m doing right by my boys.”
Chris’s wife Camilla Kerslake had her own words for judge Craig Revel Horwood, who scored Chris a three for both his routines.
At the end of a supportive message to her husband, she aimed a cheeky remark at the famously tough-talking judge, writing: “Craig, pipe down with your low scores. But I rate your hair game a 10/10.”
Camilla also spoke exclusively to The Sun about why Strictly has made her husband even more appealing in bed – though she admitted there’s one unexpected downside.
She said: “I love watching Chris on Strictly.
“I know he was so nervous on the first night but it was amazing to see him doing something that’s so out of his comfort zone.
“But the thing I’m most thankful for is the training. It’s loosened up my husband’s hips. I fancy him more than ever now.
“There is one downside though. I’m washing the bed sheets more than ever, but it’s not for the reasons you think.
“His new love of spray tans has turned our bed orange.”
