According to the BBC, the Hawks are now preparing some significant changes that will take the club to the next level as they celebrate their 80th anniversary.

First off, Whitehawk will completely rebuild their stadium and switch to a 3G pitch.

The project also includes a small gym for boxing as well as fitness clubs, a refurbished clubhouse with a bar, a new suite for hosting events and of course a fan zone.

The club added that they will upgrade the entrance, parking as well as security infrastructure before installing a 3G pitch with new floodlights.

Work has already begun on building the fan zone, which will be called The Hawks Social.

It will host street food vendors, local musicians, DJs as well as community events.

Whitehawk joint-chairman John Summers said: “This is about more than bricks and mortar, it’s about creating a space that brings people together, inspires the next generation and provides vital resources to one of the UK’s most understated areas.

“With the active support of Brighton & Hove City Council, local businesses and the community, this exciting project is poised to set a new standard for what a community football club can achieve.”

The current stand on the west of Whitehawk’s ground will be doubled in size and new stands will replace the scaffolded frame behind the goals.

A covered stand will be added to the east side, which is currently home to the dugouts and is inaccessible by their fans.

The club added that more information on progress and timeframes will be available in the coming months.
