Major League DJz Bandile and Banele Mbere have poked fun at rumours that their recent weight loss is due to the popular weight loss drug Ozempic.
The musos have been posting pictures of their leaner physiques on their social media accounts, including snaps of them hitting the gym, eating healthy, and running 5km marathons.
MAJOR LEAGUE DJZ MOCK OZEMPIC RUMOURS
On the X account, Major League DJz playfully teased rumours that their weight loss was due to Ozempic.
The duo posted pics of them training inside a gym, with the caption: “After a painful BBL surgery in Turkey… we’re still able to run.. and even do a crazier pace”
Bandile and Banele Mbere had repeatedly denied rumours that they rely on Ozempic to kick the kilograms. The siblings have now resorted to going along with the commentary.
In another post, they shared, “Proving to anyone that we are not on Ozempic doesn’t move us at all. In fact, we love the attention that you all just keep making us top of mind.
The entertainers added: “There is nothing wrong with people who Ozempicmpic.. Serena Williams just confirmed she is on it, so really”
SHIMZA AND UNCLE WAFFLES TOO?
Major League DJz are not the only South African entertainers who are rumoured to be indulging in Ozempic.
Fellow DJz, Shimza and Uncle Waffles, real names Ashley Raphala and Lungelihle Zwane respectively, have also been linked to the drug amid their own weight loss journeys.
Waffles recently addressed the social media commentary in an Instagram clip, saying, “There are many reasons people gain or lose weight. Why do you feel the need to talk about it? I put myself out there knowing criticism comes with it. But what I do is for me, for my comfort, and that is it.”
Shimza also responded to the rumours with a subtle reference.
The Kunye Records owner posted a clip of himself running on a treadmill, with the caption: “I laugh with you, at me, that way everyone is happy”.
