HOLLYWOOD stars Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn have paid tribute to their dear co-star Diane Keaton following shock news of her death.
The First Wives Club co-stars shared emotional words about Oscar-winning icon Diane, who passed away aged 79.

The late great Diane Keaton has passed away aged 79[/caption]
The beloved star’s 1996 co-stars marked the devastating loss.
Fellow movie icon Bette Midler, 79, led the tributes in a touching Instagram post.
She wrote: “The brilliant, beautiful, extraordinary Diane Keaton has died. I cannot tell you how unbearably sad this makes me.
“She was hilarious, and completely without guile, or any of the competitiveness one would have expected from such a star.
“What you saw was who she was…oh, la, la la!”
A tear-jerking message from Goldie Hawn, 79, read: “Diane, we aren’t ready to lose you.
“You’ve left us with a trail of fairy dust, filled with particles of light and memories beyond imagination.
“How do we say goodbye? What words can come to mind when your heart is broken?
“You never liked praise, so humble, but now you can’t tell me to ‘shut up’ honey.
“There was, and will be, no one like you.”
Recalling their bond on the set of their 90s movie, Goldie continued: “I was blessed to make First Wives Club with you, our days starting with coffee in the makeup trailer, laughing and joking, right through to the very last day of filming. It was a roller coaster of love.
“We agreed to grow old together, and one day, maybe live together with all our girlfriends.
“Well, we never got to live together, but we did grow older together. Who knows… maybe in the next life.
“Shine your fairy dust up there, girlfriend. I’m going to miss the hell out of you.
“My heart goes out to your beautiful children, Dex and Duke. I love you.”
The actress rose to fame after starring alongside Al Pacino in The Godfather, 1972.
She is best known for her roles in classic movies Manhattan and Annie Hall for which she won the Oscar for Best Actress in 1978.
A spokesperson on behalf of the Keaton family confirmed to PEOPLE that she died in California and that no further details are currently available.
In a statement, they said: “There are no further details at this time, and her family are has asked for privacy in this moment of great sadness.”
She is survived by her two children Dexter, 29, and Duke Keaton, 25.
