Eagle-eyed customers were quick to share the sweet find on social media.

One excited fan posted on Facebook: “NEW DOUBLE CHOCOLATE LINDT LINDOR CHOCOLATES SPOTTED IN TESCO!!”

Others were quick to chime in, with dozens of chocolate lovers confirming they had seen, and tried, the new flavour.

Feedback has been glowing, one reviewer commented: “As always, beautiful smooth chocolate, everyone’s favourite.”

The Lindor truffles are well known for their smooth, creamy centres, and this new version is no different, with shoppers saying it “melts in the mouth.”

According to Lindt, inside the “beautiful burgundy box lies luxuriously smooth and delicate Swiss milk chocolate shells, hiding irresistibly creamy, melt-in-the-mouth, dark chocolate centres.

“Perfect for treating yourself, or your loved ones.”

The combination of milk and dark chocolate is already proving a hit with fans, who are praising the rich, indulgent flavour.

Many say it’s the perfect treat as the weather turns colder and cosy nights in become more common.

The truffles are being sold in standard 200g boxes and have been spotted in larger Tesco stores across the UK.

They’re currently priced at £7.50, but savvy shoppers can knock the price down to just £5.50 with a 25% Clubcard discount, making it a tempting buy ahead of the festive season.

Lindt is no stranger to surprise launches.

Earlier this year, the Swiss chocolatier released a Pistachio version of the iconic truffles, which was spotted in Sainsbury’s.

Even rarer were the Lindt Snowdrops, a white chocolate variety with a creamy centre, found in select Iceland branches.

More recently, Lindt released a Shortbread truffle flavour, based on the iconic British biscuit.

This limited-edition offering is also available at Tesco, but only until the end of the year.

With Christmas just around the corner, demand for these special-edition truffles is expected to soar.
