MaMkhize – real name Shauwn Mkhize- has broken her silence after another auction of her assets, including her designer handbags, took place this week. The businesswoman is now making headlines after taking the helm of eSwatini soccer club, Mbabane Highlanders AM.
The club secured a 2-0 victory against Manzini Sea Birds on Saturday, 18 October.
During the game, Andile Mpisane made his debut, to the amusement of many South Africans.
MAMKHIZE BREAKS SILENCE AFTER AUCTION
On her Instagram account, MaMkhize shared a look at her new venture as a soccer boss.
Earlier this year, SARS seized her former club, Royal AM, over her R40 million unpaid taxes. Many of her assets were also auctioned to recoup her debt.
Now the businesswoman is the president of Mbabane Highlanders, which adopted the family’s signature “AM” tagline.
The flashy social media star posted a video of the club’s new tour bus as well as her interacting with players, which included her son, Andile Mpisane.
She shared: “A small step in a long journey. Our first win of the league, one game at a time, one goal at a time.
She added: “Thank you to our incredible supporters for coming out in numbers and believing in us. Patience, focus, and consistency, that’s how champions are built”.
NEW BOSS IN TOWN
According to FarPost, businessman Alfred ‘Ally’ Kgomongwe has officially transferred ownership of the Eswatini Premiership team Mbabane Highlanders to MaMkhize.
He reportedly told the publication: “MaMkhize will be in charge of Mbabane Highlanders from this season. As I have said before, there are no two owners of Mbabane Highlanders FC.
“I am the rightful owner, and I have signed the team over to MaMkhize, and she will now agree with the patrons and elders of the club on how long she will run it”.
