A South African real estate agency, Chas Everitt International Property Group, has officially launched operations in Bulawayo, rekindling hopes for the city’s long-awaited reindustrialisation and property market revival.
Chas Everitt Expands Its Zimbabwe Footprint
Located just near the heart of Bulawayo’s central business district, the new office will cater to the growing demand for high-end residential and commercial properties, as well as investment opportunities from diaspora investors and local high-net-worth individuals.
The move comes after the successful establishment of a Harare branch earlier this year, marking another milestone in Chas Everitt’s ambition to become the leading real estate brand in Zimbabwe. Plans are already underway to open a second Harare office and another branch in Victoria Falls.
Chas Everitt partners veteran registered estate agent, Jonathan Thompson
The Bulawayo office is being led by Jonathan Thompson, a seasoned property developer and one of the driving forces behind the Kings City development, a premier residential project taking shape on the outskirts of the city.
The Chas Everitt International Property Group entered the local market by adding Jonathan Thompson to their local team, combining local market expertise with the global reach of an established international real estate network.
Strong Market Potential in Zimbabwe
Barry Davies, Chas Everitt’s Chief Operating Officer, said the decision to expand into Zimbabwe was guided by both opportunity and timing.
“Zimbabwe’s economy has shown steady recovery and strong growth in key sectors, especially mining, tourism and agriculture, all of which are fuelling renewed property demand and investment,” Davies said.
Jonathan Thompson: Chas Everitt brings trust and global reach
In an exclusive interview with The South African, Jonathan Thompson, the managing director for southern Zimbabwe, said partnering with an international brand was a natural step forward.
“It will help because it gives us access to more people who can see our projects,” he explained. “Many investors in South Africa already know the Chas Everitt brand, which builds instant trust. That means we have to uphold the highest standards — they must be proud of what we’re doing.”
Thompson highlighted that Chas Everitt International offers competitive packages for its negotiators and property managers.
“We attract the best in the business,” he said. “You won’t walk into our office and find people who’ve never sold property before. Our team is made up of experienced professionals who’ve been doing this for years.”
Investment in training and professional development
With 14 years of experience in Zimbabwe and nine years in the United States, Thompson praised real estate’s commitment to training and innovation.
“One of the most amazing things about Chas Everitt is the training,” he noted. “They show us how to manage business plans, do reports, and operate online, it’s a system that builds confidence and professionalism.”
As the group cements its presence in Zimbabwe, industry watchers say its entry could reshape the country’s property sector, offering international standards, trust, and transparency to both local and global investors.
