American Kathy Bergen has set a new 85+ high jump record – and did so with room to spare!
Bergen cleared 1.02m – doing so with such ease that it suggests there’s more to come from the 85-year-old octogenarian.
Bergen has a host of world records to her name.
She is the current world record holder in the W70 100 metres and the high jump. She also holds the Indoor World records for the W65 high jump, the W70 60 metres, 200 metres and high jump. And she holds the American record for the W70 200 metres and the W65 high jump.
Kathy Bergen is also the oldest woman to break the 15 second barrier in the 100 metres and to break 32 seconds in the 200 metres.
