Latest rumours: Orlando Pirates and Rulani Mokwena

Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates coach Rulani Mokwena is still without a club, while the Buccaneers are yet to find a new coach before the next Betway Premiership season.

Mokwena has been home in Mzansi since leaving Wydad Casablanca in April, before the Moroccan giants departed for the USA for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Following Jose Riveiro’s departure to Al Ahly, rumours have circulated about Mokwena’s sensational return to Orlando Pirates.

According to Soccer Laduma, the club is locked in secretive talks with the 38-year-old Mokwena. “The interest is definitely there but no one, not even his agent is talking about this move,” an insider told the outlet.

“Apparently, only one person at Orlando Pirates is the one who is talking to the coach. If the deal happens it will be between that person and the coach.

At the moment, it’s believed that it’s a sensitive issue that no one else at the club will know the result of,” the source added.

ANOTHER CANDIDATE ON ORLANDO PIRATES’ RADAR

Related reports have said Mokwena is not the only candidate. AmaZulu FC’s former coach, Pablo Franco Martin, is also in the mix.
