Brother announces Bafana Bafana star’s move to Kaizer Chiefs?

Kaizer Chiefs could be on the brink of signing and announcing a Bafana Bafana star should rumours be true.

Chiefs will be looking to improve their frontline in the 2025/26 season with numerous names linked.

Chiefs looking to bolster their squad

Subsequently there have been quite a few attackers linked with Chiefs going into the next season. This as a sign of what they’re trying to fix in the final third. Amakhosi, however, have seen the likes of Fiston Mayele, Etiosa Ighodaro, Robert Polievka mentioned as strikers. In the wingers department Oswin Appollis, Elias Mokwana, Mihlali Mayambela and Keletso Makgalwa have been touted.

Now the brother of one of those players in Mark Mayambela seems to have made a big hint. Following a report that came out, linking his brother with a return to South Africa and Chiefs, he has responded. The former Orlando Pirates star has quoted the initial tweet of the article with a picture of his brother. This was not just any picture, however, as it was one of Mihlali wearing an Amakhosi development tracksuit top.

Mayambela hints at brother joining

Mayambela was part of the Chiefs junior structures back in his development days, before moving abroad. According to the quote from his older brother, he may be on his way back to Naturena as a senior. He didn’t post any words, just an emoji that raised the speculation. Should Mihlali join then he would undoubtedly be raising the standards of their attack.

Currently, Chiefs have the likes of Pule Mmodi, Gaston Sirino, Glody Lilepo, Ashley du Preez and Mfundo Vilakazi out wide. Mayambela would also bring international experience to the club. This as he was part of the Bafana Bafana squad that won bronze at previous AFCON.
